Forum rules
Anyone can read the forums. So that everyone feels at ease, here is what we ask of those who write.
- Stay polite: we discuss ideas, not people. No insults, no harassment, no hate speech.
- Write in the right forum, with a title that says what it is about.
- No advertising and no canvassing. Classified ads belong in the listings.
- Do not post a phone number, an e-mail address or a postal address: neither yours nor anybody else’s.
- Do not accuse anyone by name and do not post anything illegal.
- One account per person; votes are there to bring up what is useful, not to settle scores.
- In a debate, take a side and argue: one message, one idea.
- Does a post seem to break these rules? Report it: the team will read it.
Moderation and appeals
A post that breaks the rules may be removed by the team or by the moderators of a forum. Its author is told, with the reason for the decision, and can contest it once from the notification; the team answers after a second look. The first posts of a new account and posts reported several times may wait for review.
